The Third Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC 2020) will be held online on October 19-23, 2020. The objective of the conference is to strengthen a regional dialogue on climate change and sustainable development through the information and knowledge exchange in Central Asia. A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Ainur Kopbayeva, Head of the Climate Change Adaptation Unit of the Department on Climate Policy and Green Technologies of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She and representatives of other Central Asian countries will discuss the attraction of funding from various sources for climate initiatives, at the thematic session of the final fifth day of CACCC 2020, October 23, 2020.
Ainur Kopbayeva is the Head of the Climate Change Adaptation Unit of the Department of Climate Policy and Green Technologies of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Ainur Kopbayeva also collaborates with financial institutions and organizations to implement projects in the area of climate change. Since 2019, Ainur Kopbayeva has been holding the Technical coordinator position for the cooperation with the Green Climate Fund. Besides, she is an official participant of Kazakhstan’s delegations at the 24th and 25th sessions of the Conference of the Parties on the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-24 Katowice, COP-25 Madrid).
Ainur Kopbayeva has a master's degree in state and local administration from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
