The Third Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC 2020) will be held online on October 19-23, 2020. The objective of the conference is to strengthen a regional dialogue on climate change and sustainable development through the information and knowledge exchange in Central Asia. A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers and moderators of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Nailya Timerkhanova (Mustaeva). She will moderate the thematic session “Financing climate change actions in times of pandemic (COVID-19)” of the fifth day of the CACCC 2020 on October 23, 2020.

Moderator


Ms. Nailya Timerkhanova (Mustaeva) - Technical Consultant of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia. Nailya has 15 years of professional experience in climate change and sustainable energy, working at the national and subregional level. Since 2004 she has been working in numerous UNDP projects on climate adaptation and mitigation, sustainable development and the environment in Tajikistan. In 2013 she joined the Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Program of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) and expanded her area of expertise to implement international and regional projects on climate and energy in partnership with governmental and non-governmental agencies of Central Asia. In 2016-2017, Nailya coordinated the Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) of the World Bank’s Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin (CAMP4ASB). Nowadays, she continues supporting CAREC in the capacity of technical consultants and other climate change projects with UNDP.
