Bahodur Sheralizoda - speaker of CACCC-2021

The Fourth Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2021) will be held on July 26-27, 2021, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The conference will be conducted as a mix of in-person and virtual meetings.

The objective of the conference is to strengthen the regional dialogue, information and knowledge exchange in order to support climate-resilient evidence-based decision-making systems, as well as to explore the possibilities to ensure the synergy in climate projects implementation between international finance organizations and the development agencies in Central Asia.

 A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers and moderators of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Bahodur Sheralizoda, a Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. He will be a speaker at the opening and closing sessions as well as at the High-level segment of CACCC-2021.


Speaker

Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon is the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Also, starting from 2016, he is an applicant for the Tajik National University and the International Center for European Formation (Center International de Formation Européenne - CIFE). Thesis – Paris climate agreement: commitments and opportunities for Tajikistan. In 2007 Mr. Sheralizoda was graduated from the Tajik Technical University and in 2011 from the University of Kassel, Germany.

Before the appointment as Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan he worked on the following positions:

  • 2006-2007 – Translator/Interpreter, CARE International in Tajikistan;

  • 2007-2008 – Administrative Assistant, CARE International in Tajikistan;

  • 2012-2013 – Office Manager on Public Relations, ACT Central Asia;

  • 2012 – 2017 – Lecturer at Russian-Tajik Slavonic University, Technological University of Tajikistan, Tajik National University;

  • 2013-2014 – Communications Manager, British Embassy in Tajikistan;

  • 2014-2015 – Specialist, Climate Change and Ozone Center, Agency for Hydrometeorology/Pilot Programme on Climate Resilience (Asian Development Bank);

  • 2015-2016 – Consultant on Inclusive Business, Asian Development Bank cooperatively with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan

  • 2015-2018 – Advisor on Climate Finance Readiness, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) / Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan;

  • 2017-2019 – Consultant of the Women in Business Programme, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development;

  • 2018 – Manager on evaluation and training for HPP Qairakkum Modernization and Climadapt projects, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development / Climate Investment Fund

  • 2018-2019 Consultant on Energy Transition, Agora Energiewende/Alexander von Humboldt, Berlin, Germany

  • 2019 – Consultant on Developing capacities of the Republic of Serbia, Montenegro and other Western Balkan countries for Effective cooperation with the Green Climate Fund, UN Environmental Programme (UNEP); 

  • August-December 2019 – Consultant, Program of Evaluation of Central Asian Portfolio and Advanced Technologies of the UK Department for International Development (DFID)

  • November 2019-February 2020 – Consultant on effective cooperation with the Green Climate Fund and climate fundraising, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in the Republic of Botswana.
