The Third Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC 2020) will be held online on October 19-23, 2020. The conference's objective is to strengthen a regional dialogue on climate change and sustainable development through the information and knowledge exchange in Central Asia. A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers of the upcoming event. Today, we would like to introduce you to Caroline Milow, Programme Director of the “Green Central Asia”: Transboundary dialogue on climate, environment and security in Central Asia and Afghanistan, GIZ. Her presentation on “Green Central Asia” as a new opportunity for the regional climate cooperation will take place on October 22 as a part of the thematic session of the CACCC 2020 fourth day.

Since April 2020, Caroline Milow has been the Director of the Transboundary Dialogue on Climate, Environment and Security in Central Asia and Afghanistan, implemented by the Green Central Asia Initiative.

From 2008 to 2011, Caroline Milow served as Senior Project Officer and Programme Manager for the OSCE in Uzbekistan. After she started working for the OSCE, she was also appointed a Political Adviser to European Union Special Representative for Central Asia / European Union External Action Service.

Since 2011, Caroline Milow has been working on resource management and environmental protection in Central Asia.

In 2015, Caroline Milow was selected to take a water diplomacy course at Tufts University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

In terms of her academic background, Caroline Milow:

  • holds a master's degree in history, political science, Slavic languages ​​and literature.

  • holds a Ph.D. in History of Diplomacy from the University of Regensburg
