Kazuhiro Yoshida - speaker of CACCC-2021

The Fourth Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2021) will be held on July 26-27, 2021, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The conference will be conducted as a mix of in-person and virtual meetings.

The objective of the conference is to strengthen the regional dialogue, information and knowledge exchange in order to support climate-resilient evidence-based decision-making systems, as well as to explore the possibilities to ensure the synergy in climate projects implementation between international finance organizations and the development agencies in Central Asia.

 A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers and moderators of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Kazuhiro Yoshida, Officer in charge of establishment of CAREC Water Pillar and Tajikistan water resources and irrigation projects, ADB. He will be a speaker at a thematic session of CACCC-2021 dedicated to climate financing.


Speaker

Mr. Kazuhiro Yoshida is the Senior Water Resources Specialist of the Asian Development Bank. He joined Asian Development Bank in 2020, working for irrigation and water resources management in Central Asia. He is the focal of Water Pillar of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program and a team leader for water resources and irrigation projects in Tajikistan.

Before joining ADB, he worked at JICA for 16 years, including the head of the section in the local office in Afghanistan where he coordinated the agriculture and rural development portfolio, and at World Bank for 8 years working on irrigation and water resources management projects and analytical works in Central Asia, South Caucasus and Africa.

Kazuhiro Yoshida holds the master’s degrees in Agricultural Engineering from Kyoto University, Japan and Rural Development from Sussex University, UK.
