Central Asia needs to continue regional cooperation in the context of global climate processes, especially taking into account the processes of establishing accountability mechanisms, the implementation of climate finance instruments and interaction with national policies.
CAREC continues to support the post-Paris process in the countries of Central Asia, holding regular meetings to discuss the progress of countries and formulate possible joint actions that reflect the vision of Central Asian countries on climate change. The last of the meetings took place in Almaty, April 17-18, 2017.

- The Paris Agreement is a document, which regulates measures to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since 2020. The agreement was prepared during the Climate Conference in Paris and adopted by consensus on December 12, 2015.
- Without exception, all countries must adopt and implement their national plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote technological progress and promote adaptation to climate change.
