The sixth issue of the Central Asian Climate Information Platform (CACIP) bulletin has been published. The main goal of CACIP is to provide all interested parties with access to information related to climate change. It covers all 5 countries in Central Asia.
At the moment, final work is underway to develop the platform. Already today CACIP provides access to more than 11 thousand documents. Information is available in 7 languages: English, Russian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Turkmen and Uzbek.
While we are putting the finishing touches, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the features that will be available very soon within the platform. More detailed information you can get from our newsletters. Check them out – here.
What information will you find in the sixth issue of the newsletter?
First of all, the newsletter provides information on the use of two CACIP services for visualizing climate information. Simone Maffei, a member of the CACIP technical group, introduced them to platform users. The first of the presented services is the creation of multi-layer maps for your own needs using various available maps. An example was shown in creating a two-layer map with a combination of layers on arable lands and dams of Central Asia.
The second service presented concerns the use of geographic data for Central Asia, available in various international, regional and national databases. Using data on the average temperature for Central Asia for 2000-2019, a map was created showing the growth trends of the average temperature in our region.
Do not forget that your feedback is very important to us. Therefore, we ask you to take a short survey on the possible forms of remote interaction.
Follow our news and study with us the functions of the Central Asian Climate Information Platform, which will be available to everyone very soon.
