Johannes Stenbæk Madsen – speaker of CACCC 2020

The Third Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC 2020) will be held online on October 19-23, 2020. The objective of the conference is to strengthen a regional dialogue on climate change and sustainable development through the information and knowledge exchange in Central Asia. A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Mr. Johannes Stenbæk Madsen, Head of Cooperation at the European Union (EU) Delegation to Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan. His presentation will take place on October 22, 2020 as a part of the thematic session of the fourth day of the CACCC 2020 “Financing climate change actions: international funds and initiatives”.

Mr. Johannes Stenbæk Madsen is Head of Cooperation at the European Union (EU) Delegation to Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan. In this capacity he supervises the management of EU funded programmes in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and the Central Asia Region. Between 2013 and 2017 he was Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan.  

Before joining the European Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) he worked as Team Leader at the Luxembourg based European Court of Auditors (ECA), the independent EU institution responsible for auditing the European Commission and the EEAS. Prior to his time at the ECA he worked as Sr. Financial Management Specialist at the World Bank in Washington DC and before that as Administrator for the SIGMA Programme at the OECD in Paris.
